Government Seats (G Seats):

In a seat matrix for MBBS/BDS super-specialty courses valid before the National Eligibility and Entrance Examination, super-specialty seats. The additional seats (45% domicile) will be reserved in case of following 40 A to O are filled up by open-category candidates.

Private Seats (GMP, OPN, & Minority SEATS )

For Karnataka / Non- Karnataka candidates including minority (Christian and Muslim ) applicants these seats are available.

NRI Seats (N):

Applicable for children or wards of Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Overseas Citizens of India (OCI), and Persons of Indian Origin(PIO)/ Foreign Nationals after completing MBBS/BDS from a recognized institution.

Other Seats (Q Seats):

Available to all those candidates who have done MBBS and BDS from any Indian College or university, after which you are going to appear in the NEET PG 2024 examination. Not applicable to NRI, PIOs, OCI & foreign nationals.

NEET PG 2024 Eligibility Clauses in Karnataka

  1. Eligibility for government Seats (G Seats)

Eligibility for Candidates Applying to Government Seats – To be eligible candidates applying the government seats must fulfill one of the clauses mentioned below.

All the candidates must have studied and passed MBBS/BDS from a recognized medical or dental institution located in Karnataka.

Clause A: Details/Documents required – Proof of study in Karnataka.

Clause B: Candidates must have studied and passed in one or more government-recognized educational institutions located in Karnataka for a minimum period of 10 academic years on the date of notification (from first standard to twelfth standard) from candidates who join VIII, IX, and X standards only whereas such requirement shall not be also insisted upon students who are shifted from other board outside state during KVS Promotion guidelines. And also be qualified MBBS/BDS from a recognized medical/dental institution in Karnataka.

Clause C: Candidates must have studied for a minimum of 10 academic years in Karnataka and also appeared in either the SSLC/10th or 12th exam from the state but completed MBBS/BDS outside the state.

Clause D: (For Govt./HK Region Only) Children of serving employees in IAS, IPS & Indian Forest Services borne on Karnataka region are also eligible to apply for Government seats under above clause D provided they have served a minimum period of 7 years within the State outside their duty/tour touching all districts and otherwise shown as ‘places worked’ both by officer’s and work measuring staffs posted there.

Clause E: Son or daughter of an employee of the Union Government or employee of Union or Karnataka State Government undertaking or Joint Sector undertaking where such employee:

  1. Had declared to the employer at the time of joining service any place in Karnataka to be his hometown and had studied in any Government or Government recognized educational institution or institutions located in Karnataka for a minimum period of 10 years, and was or is liable to be transferred anywhere in India as per the terms and conditions of his employment.
  2. Further, the candidate must have passed the Qualifying Examination from a University or Board, or any other institution located anywhere in India.

Clause F: Even the children of Members of Parliament elected from Karnataka are entitled to government seats on certain grounds.

Clause G: Children of serving defense personnel or ex-servicemen from Karnataka and who did not choose any other State as their place of residence will also be eligible.

  1. Private Seats Category (GMP, OPN & Minority Seats)

The eligible conditions for the candidates to apply on private seats (General Merit Private) in Karnataka are as follows:

GMP Seats: The candidates fulfilling Clause B or C above are eligible for GMP seats.

OPN Seats: No candidate other than a citizen of India shall be allowed to claim admission under 15% Management Quota Seats – Passed MBBS/BDS from any AIIMS in the country/ recognized Medical/Dental Colleges which are not covered by Psy Devi University or Banaras Hindu Univerisity is eligible for OPN seats.

Christian Minority: Christian candidates belonging to Karnataka and non-Karnataka are eligible under Clause B or C.

Eligibility for NRI seats:- Regarding (N category)

Qualification: Candidates should have done MBBS/BDS from an Institution recognized by MCI/ DCI.

The candidates should be either NRI, PIO, OIC, or Foreign Nationals Under this category, even children of non-resident Indians can apply.

Documentation Required for NEET PG 2024 Karnataka

Duration: One year of compulsory service in a government hospital

Penalty: If a candidate fails to complete the compulsory service, they must pay a penalty of INR 50 lakh for postgraduate degree holders and INR 25 lakh for diploma holders.
