NEET PG 2024 exam is the national-level entrance exam for admission in MD, MS, and Diplomas courses across India. - Nationality
Applicants Have to be local Indian Citizens. Examples of evidence on nationality:
- Nationality Certificate issued by Tehsildar, or equivalent authority;
- A valid passport or a School Leaving Certificate from HSC/12th standard indicating that the nationality of a candidate is “Indian.
For Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), only NRI quota seats are available that too upto a maximum of 15% in Private and Minority Medical colleges. However, OCI candidates who have obtained OCI status on or before March 4, 2021, and completed their MBBS from a medical college located in the state of Maharashtra are qualified to apply for state quota seats.
- Education and Internship
For others: Candidates should be Indian nationals and hold a final MBBS degree from a college/institute in Maharashtra.
- To complete their internship before August 15, 2024.
- Registered with the National Medical Commission (NMC) or State Medical Council to get the internship.
- State CET Cell: Foreign-born MBBS Graduates are Not Eligible for Admission.
- For Maharashtra State and AIQ Candidates
The limit applies to candidates who are domiciled in Maharashtra but have completed their MBBS from government medical colleges in other states under the 15% All India Quota. In addition, these candidates must have the following:
- Certificate of AIQ admission ( from the Dean of the respective college, )
- A domicile certificate of Maharashtra
- Medical Fitness
Prescribed medical fitness for all the candidates will be examined during Document Verification.
- NEET PG 2024 Appearance
The Candidate must have appeared NEET PG-2024 and declared eligible by the Competent Authority.
- Minimum Percentile Requirements
- GC, EWS Category: Percentage Required/MMI NEET PG 2024 – at least 50.
- Revised Percentile Categories: SC/ST/OBC and PWD Candidates ( belonging to SC/ST OBC including PWD of these categories): 40th percentile.
- PWD Candidates in General and EWS Categories: Minimum of 45th percentile
A failure to reach these minimum scores means candidates will not be eligible for admission.
- Registration Requirement
Applicants must be Registered with NMC / Maharashtra Medical Council or any other State medical council. During the document verification, the registration certificate has to be produced.
- Reservation Claim
Candidates claiming reservation (SEBC, OBC, EWS) should be declared category at the time of online registration. Along with the Caste Certificate, Caste Validity Certificate & Non-Creamy Layer Certificate for the SC/ ST category – the other category of the applicants must bring all related documents while verification is undergoing. A candidate is not required to provide these documents, but if he must, they should submit the complete documents otherwise it will be processed as a general category application only.
- Non-Creamy Layer and Caste Validity
VJ-DT(A), NT(B), NT(C), NT(D), OBC, SEBC, and SBC category candidates should have a valid Non-Creamy Layer Certificate up to 31st March 2025 on the same date. The Caste Validity Certificate is to be submitted at document verification. Failing this, his/her application will be considered for Open Category admissions.
- Candidates for Postgraduate Diploma
Only in that subject in which you have done the work of completing your postgraduate diploma course, you can apply for a postgraduate degree.
- Bond Service Completion
The candidates who have completed their MBBS from Maharashtra government/ corporation medical colleges need to complete bond service if any. They are given a maximum of two chances to take NEET PG although they have not done the bond service. Otherwise, they need a bond release certificate to undertake further postgraduate studies after two years of MO ship.
- Bond Service Mandatory for MBBS Graduates
Candidates are bonded for 1 year by the government rules from the medical college of government or corporation, but these rules are in court order.
- In-Service Candidates
In-Service Candidates (Govt Medical Officer): Candidates should be eligible as per the norms set by the Public Health Department of Maharashtra. Aspirants seeking in-service quota seats should obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC from their employer)
- Selection Process Based on NEET PG Merit
Weightage: In-service candidates serving in remote/difficult areas up to 30% of marks obtained for each year (maximum of three years) shall be awarded depending on the number of years served. However, the weightage will not be given if they select general quota seats.
- Non-Eligibility for NEET PG 2024
- Candidates Not Eligible for NEET PG 2024
- MBBS candidates from non-Maharashtra colleges, excluding those selected under the 15% AIQ.
- NRI candidates are not eligible for seats in Government/Corporation Medical colleges, State quota of Central Government Medical Colleges/Government colleges/State CET Cell quota seats (including Institutional quota) of Unaided Private and Minority Medical Colleges. However, they are eligible for NRI quota seats in Unaided Private and Minority Medical Colleges.
- Foreign Nationals (Other than OCIs) are not eligible through the process, in the State of Maharashtra.
- Aspirants who have not taken NEET PG 2024
- Applicants who do not complete their internship before August 15, 2024
- Those who have not completed bond service or registration either with NMC/ State Medical Council.
- Candidates who have resigned from an earlier postgraduate seat.
